Supported Independent Living (SIL)

At IDEA, we will assist you in finding a Supported Independent Living home to call your own.  We have always believed that our participants should have the opportunity to live a holistic, healthy, and connected life in an accommodation that best suits their needs.

Our dedicated and wonderful team members will provide assistance for daily living tasks, personal care, and will focus on developing your skills to be able to reach your goals and live as independently as possible.

Our SIL services can be delivered to participants in a variety of housing models, including:

  • Housing sourced through the Department of Housing or other social housing entities.
  • Private rentals.
  • Privately owned houses.
  • Shared or group accommodation.
  • Specialist Disability Accommodation Residences Sourced by IDEA.
  • Tailored SIL services to meet the support needs identified in an individual’s NDIS Plan.

Primarily, we provide our participants with a comfortable and secure home. We also support them with day-to-day tasks like:

  • Cleaning and laundry
  • Nutrition and cooking
  • Personal care such as showering and dressing
  • Going to appointments
  • Taking medication
  • Taking up a hobby
  • Learning to catch public transport.
